My review of the penultimate episode of Justified season three, "Coalition," is up at spinetingler.

Best line of the episode was clearly Wynn Duffy's response to Boyd mentioning Quarles' "brilliant blue eyes."

"And a big, stupid baby head!" Fucking hilarious

"Viscosity" by Killing Joke/Brute Force Films

Back in February I was a production assistant for a short film shot in St Paul called "Viscosity."

It's directed by Paul von Stoetzel and adapted by Richard Molby from a short story by Jedidiah Ayres.

Check it out HERE.

It's fucking gross and hilarious, two adjectives I'm hoping pique your interest as much as they do mine.

Can't stress to you enough, dear reader, that you should read the book Drive before reading Driven, its sequel.

Justified - "Guy Walks Into a Bar"

My review of "Guy Walks Into a Bar," the latest episode of Justified, is up at spinetingler.

Check that shit out HERE.

Only three more episodes to go, Justifans, and it looks like some fun shit is coming down the pike.

And was anyone else surprised how quickly the election paid off? For some reason I thought that would be like the final episode of the season or something.

Gary Phillips Interview

My interview with Gary Phillips where we talk the new anthology Scoundrels: Tales of Greed, Murder and Financial Crimes is up at the crime factory blog.

Check that shit out HERE.

Gary edited the book and also has a story in it, as do folks like Kelli Stanley, Reed Farrel Coleman, Seth Harwood, SJ Rozan, David Corbett, and a whole lot more.

Last Days by Brian Evenson

My review of Brian Evenson's Last Days is up at spinetingler.

Check that shit out HERE.

I need to catch up with more of Evenson's shit. I read his The Open Curtain a few years ago, thought it was fucking fantastic.

There's this moment towards the end of that one where - oh fuck, I can't even describe what he does, I just know it's brilliant.
